Meet the Expert
Early work for Stephanie began as a Prop Stylist for TV commercials which eventually led to studying Interior Design in College. She was heavily influenced by her family roots, as most of the women in her family were designers in some capacity or another. Her passion for design runs deep and there was never a question about her career aspirations.
Her signature style is casual luxury and she loves incorporating a variety of design styles to keep spaces interesting and timeless. She’s a big believer that homeowners should never be the oldest thing in the house and she’s never met an antique store she didn’t love. Creating beautiful spaces, for her clients to love where they live is her speciality. Stephanie resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her Husband, Son and French Bulldogs, Lulu and Ruby. Her work has been featured on HGTV and Houzz.
Layer Textures & Natural Elements:
Using natural elements in your decor helps warm up the space. In this living room, we’ve decorated with natural woven baskets, a marble coffee table and concrete tile.
By using a mix of materials and layering accents, we’ve created a casual, lived in, feel. Baskets are also super functional for extra throw blankets and pillows, storage doesn’t always have to be boring!
Don’t be afraid to use a light color on your walls! By doing so, you let your decor and textiles shine. There is a big misconception about white walls, people think they are too stark or feel like hospital room, but when you go light on the walls, you can have more fun with color and pattern elsewhere.
Having a neutral base allows all your other pieces to stand out, but if it still feels too stark, add a painted accent wall or have fun with wallpaper!
When in doubt with your color scheme just remember high contrast will always be in style. We’ve paired a light gray sofa with some blue velvet lounge chairs for the perfect punch of color.
On that note, furniture look best when arranged as separates and not in a set. It’s tempting to go buy the matching set from a big box store, but it feels so much more personalized and visually appealing when your pieces don’t all match.
